Project Description
COVID-19 changed how people live and interact. During this time, many people struggled with their mental health. Moving online allowed people to join events, like guided meditations or therapy, anywhere in the world, on their schedule. With so many means of reaching an audience, it became hard to track where to go to join an event.
enso is an app that helps users find and book mental/spiritual health events and helps organizers create and advertise their mental or spiritual health events.

User Research
I attended a “healing circle” group that had to move their meetings online because of the pandemic. One of their main activities is a group energy healing meditation. This session helped me understand how the event worked.
After the event, I asked to interview the attendees, as well as the organizer. I gathered their contact information and consent and put together a research plan with questions for both sets of people. I was interested in discovering how their virtual experiences compared to their in-person experiences.
After the interviews were complete, I took some time to map out the user’s journey and marked pain and gain points for both virtual and in-person experiences. This helped me identify design opportunities.
Problems
Opportunity
Constraint
There were many problems that the participants had with the transition to digital, like technical issues taking them out of the zone.
One of the most important parts of these group healing events is the number of people involved; the more people involved, the more energy that people can channel towards helping each other. Unexpectedly, this studio saw a decrease in participation from “regulars” after going virtual but brought in new participants from around the world.
“The link to this event was only posted on Facebook once. I saved it to my computer to find it easier… sometimes I’ll send it to my friends.”
Create a platform where people can find and share mental and spiritual health events.
Everyone prefers different digital conferencing softwares, integrate them into this app.

Creating an Event
Task Flows
Based on the interviews and personas, I created and tested user flows, focusing on finding and creating events.

From the workflows, rough wireframes were made to test with potential users.
Users were given scenarios and tasks to complete and were observed how the users interacted with the app. After multiple rounds of testing, both online and in-person, I was able to tweak flows and layouts to create an effective app.
Wireframing
Skinning
Once the testing of the prototype was finished and the UI was completely figure out, it was time to move on to skinning the app, and creating a cohesive brand identity.
